Therapeutic Busyness:

Wintertime is a lovely time of slowing down and preparing for the warmer seasons to come. Like nature, we can work on purging, reorganizing and replenishing our home spaces in a thoughtful restful way. Therapeutic Busyness is a way to connect ourselves, our home and our families and find a creative rhythm of therapy in tidying up. One by one, at a pace that suits you and your family, drawers can be emptied and reconsidered, rooms can be re-organized, and developmental needs can be met. What can we do to make that drawer/dresser/closet suit our needs better, and as importantly, what can we get rid of? If there are napkins, are they tattered and stained? Dye them, stamp them, sew them anew. If there are spaces that young children are growing into, feed their autonomy by creating more accessibility and prepare the space for all to share. Being busy can be beautiful and even healing, when we slow it down a little and give it intentions from the heart.
